No account, nothing to install, no advert inside the conversation and no tracker following you out of the room. That is the whole idea, and it is worth a coffee now and then.

The one that actually keeps the site up, because it makes the bill predictable. A euro or two is plenty. Tick Make it monthly on the Ko-fi page, and stop it again whenever you like.

Nothing, and that is on purpose. No badge, no colour next to your name, no room that only supporters can enter, no advert that disappears. Everybody gets the same klaklak. The moment paying buys something, the people who did not pay are using a worse site, and that is not the site we want to run.
What it does buy is the thing you are already using: a chat room that opens in one click, keeps no history, asks for no e-mail address and has nobody to sell your attention to except one line of text under the message box.
Where the money goes
The domain, the Cloudflare bill that serves every room, and the mail service. Those are small and they are not the point; the hours are. klaklak is built and run by Hertge VOF, a small company in the Netherlands, next to the work that pays the rent.
The other side of the same coin is on the advertising page: one line of sponsored text, at a price we can defend, is what is meant to carry the site. Support is what covers the gap while that fills up.
Or help without paying
This is not a polite afterthought. Any of these is worth more to us than a coffee:
- Tell one person who needs a room without a signup. That is how nearly everybody arrives.
- Put a room on your own website with one line of HTML. It costs nothing and it brings people who stay.
- Write to info@hertge.com when something is broken, slow or confusing. We read all of it and we answer.
Questions
Is this a subscription?
Only if you pick the monthly option, and you can end it yourself at any time from the same page you started it on. A one-off never repeats.
Do you see my card details?
No. The payment happens at Ko-fi, not here. We see the amount, the name you give and a message if you leave one.
Can I get it back?
A gift buys nothing, so there is nothing to refund, but if you sent one by mistake or for the wrong amount, say so and we will pay it back. That is written down in our terms.
Can my company pay with an invoice?
Not for support, no. If you are a business and you want something back for the money, the advertising page is the right door, and that does come with an invoice from Hertge VOF.
